With the background of the 64-bit technology spreading more and more into the world of operating systems, PEAK-System has developed its software accordingly. The wide range of CAN interfaces can now be used with the 64-bit editions of the operating systems Windows 7/Vista/XP and with 64-bit Linux kernels. Also the current versions of the software products, e.g. the PCAN-Explorer 5, can explicitly be run in 64-bit Windows environments.

The programming interfaces PCAN-API, PCAN-Basic, PCAN-Light, and PCAN-RP1210 allow the creation of 32-bit and 64-bit applications. Thus, a uniform access to CAN functions is ensured on all platforms.
