BUS CONVERTER MODULE

Connection to other CAN transceivers

PCAN-TJA1054

The PCAN-bus converter (TJA1054) allows CAN high-speed components (based on the PCA82C250, PCA82C251 and TJA1050 transceivers by Philips), e.g. PCAN-USB or PCAN-PCI card, to be connected to the low-speed CAN-bus (PCA82C252, TJA1053, TJA1054). The 5V supply of the bus converter is established via PIN1 of the 9-pin Sub-D socket.

Specifications PCAN-TJA1054
  • Adapter from high-speed CAN (PCA82C251) to low-speed CAN (TJA 1054). Transfer rates up to 125 kbit/s
  • Philips PCA82C251 and TJA1054 CAN transceiver
  • Termination resistors for low-speed CAN can be switched (560 / 5.66K)
  • Power-LED
  • Error LED (low-speed CAN)
  • Connection via 9-pin Sub-D assignment according to CiA recommendation DS102
  • All PEAK CAN cards can be set to the required supply via solder jumper

PCAN-AU5790

The PCAN-AU5790 adapter is the interface between a high-speed CAN (HS-CAN) and a so-called single-wire CAN (SW-CAN). Basically, it can be used at any position of the HS-CAN. Primarily, however, it is designed for the direct connection of a HS-CAN hardware (e.g. PCAN-USB) to a SW-network.

Specifications PCAN-AU5790
  • Three possible operating modes of the SW-CAN side (Normal / High-speed / Wake-up), adjustable via slide switch
  • Indicator LEDs for power supply (red) and wake-up signals (yellow)
  • Power supply (5 V) via PCAN adapter (no special power pack required), internal charge pump for nominal 12 V for supply of the SW-CAN transceiver
  • Additional external power supply (12 V) for SW-CAN transceiver (e.g. by car battery) required only if the 5 V supply cannot provide enough power (min. 150 mA). This is the case, e.g. with all PEAK-CAN adapters with electrical isolation (optical decoupling).

Specifications PCAN-B10011S
  • Direct connection to an HS-CAN component (Sub-D socket, 9-pin)
  • Switchable termination of the HS-CAN
  • Connection of the Truck Trailer CAN via 9-pin Sub-D connector
  • Choice of operating modes for the Truck Trailer CAN via slide switch
  • Data transfer rates up to 125 kbit/s
