PEAK-DevPack 1.5

2022-05-24 • Debugging support in development package for programmable PEAK hardware

The PEAK-DevPack, our development package for Arm-based products, has been released in version 1.5.0. It brings not only updates to the toolchain, but also new features.

The updates in the development package concern the compiler (GNU Arm Embedded Toolchain 10-2020-q4-major), linked utilities, and various programming examples. Support for the PCAN-MicroMod FD evaluation board has also been added. See also the package history, linked below.

The outstanding new feature is the integration of the OpenOCD debug toolchain. With a hardware debugger, the CPU of the used PEAK hardware can thus be accessed directly via JTAG.

To simplify the JTAG cabling between a hardware debugger and one of our hardware products, we offer an adapter board and matching cables.
The "PEAK-DevPack Debug Adapter" (IPEK-003026) is available on request and provides connections for the following products:

  • PCAN-Router Pro FD (IPEH-002220/IPEH-002222)
  • PCAN-Router FD (IPEH-002214/IPEH-002215)
  • PCAN-MicroMod FD (IPEH-003080)
  • PCAN-GPS (IPEH-002110)
The hardware debugging is tailored to the ST-Link/V2. The use of an alternative hardware debugger is possible, but is not supported by PEAK-System.
