Hardware Support

PEAK-System CAN Interface Support from Vehicle Network Toolbox

Use PEAK-System CAN devices to stream CAN bus data into MATLAB and Simulink.

Vehicle Network Toolbox supports PEAK-System CAN interface hardware using the latest version of the PCAN basic library. The table below lists the hardware supported by the latest release of Vehicle Network Toolbox.

With PEAK-System CAN interface support, you can perform the following tasks in MATLAB or Simulink:

  • Transmit and receive CAN and XCP messages
  • Pack and unpack CAN messages for simplified decoding and encoding
  • Filter, log, and replay CAN messages
  • Use .dbc database and A2L description files
  • Find and display CAN interface device settings

In MATLAB and Simulink, you can transmit and receive CAN messages using the CAN FD standard if the CAN interface hardware supports CAN FD. Vehicle Network Toolbox supports PEAK-System CAN interface hardware on Windows and Linux platforms.

Vehicle Network Toolbox supports PEAK-System CAN interface hardware on Windows and Linux platforms. To use PEAK-System hardware on Windows, you must install the Windows drivers from the Peak-System website. To use PEAK-System hardware on Linux platform, you must install the Linux drivers manually from the PEAK-System web site. PEAK-System devices also support the use of SocketCAN interface on Linux platform.
