AllowStatusFrames

This parameter allows / disallows the reception of Status frames within a PCAN-Channel. This parameter doesn’t affect the acceptance filter of a PCAN Channel. Furthermore, other applications working with the same hardware can individually configure the reception of Status frames.

  Note

Disabling the ReceiveStatus parameter also suppresses the reception of Status frames.

Availability

It is available since PCAN-Basic version 4.2.0.

Supported By

Access Mode

This parameter is read/write. It can be configured and retrieved.

Possible Values

This parameter can be activated or deactivated. Accepts values of type ParameterValueActivation.

Default Value

The default state of receiving Status frames is On. After switching it Off, receiving Status frames stays inactive until it is expressly reactivated, or the Channel is disconnected, i.e., using the Uninitialize method.

Initialization Status

Get: The PCAN Channel must be initialized before using this parameter.

Set: The PCAN Channel must be initialized before using this parameter.

Example

The following code shows how to disable receiving Status frames on a USB Channel:

C#
PcanChannel channelUsed = PcanChannel.Usb01;

if (Api.Initialize(channelUsed, Bitrate.Pcan500) == PcanStatus.OK)
{
    if (Api.SetValue(channelUsed, PcanParameter.AllowStatusFrames, ParameterValue.Activation.Off) == PcanStatus.OK)
        Console.WriteLine($"Receiving Status frames on {channelUsed} has been successfully disabled.");
    else
        Console.WriteLine($"Error configuring the reception of Status frames on channel {channelUsed}.");
    Api.Uninitialize(channelUsed);
}
