Parameter Classification and Usage

Different features of the PCAN-Basic API can be retrieved and configured using the methods GetValue / SetValue.

In order to delimit the purpose of the different parameters, they are arranged in 7 groups:

  1. Hardware Identification

  2. Informational Purposes

  3. Influencing Behavior

  4. Data Reading and Flow Control

  5. Logging and Debugging

  6. CAN Data Recording (Tracing)

  7. Electronic Circuits (I/O pins)

With some exceptions, a channel must first be initialized before their parameters can be read or set. Parameters that can be set without first having a Channel initialized are further grouped as:
