CAN XL across all PEAK Software

Every PEAK software for development, monitoring and analysis now fully supports CAN XL

We have officially expanded CAN XL support across our entire core software landscape. Following its integration into the PCAN-Basic API (software development library) and PCAN-Explorer 7 (CAN analysis software) ecosystem including PCAN Net Configuration and PCAN Status Display, CAN XL capabilities are now fully operational within PCAN-View (CAN monitoring tool) and PCAN-Developer 5 (application development package).

To align with modern systems programming paradigms, the PCAN-Basic API now introduces native Rust support. Built for cross-platform workflows across Windows and Linux, this release includes a dedicated FFI module, PCANBasic.rs, engineered for seamless, low-overhead integration into Rust crates. To accelerate deployment, several production-ready Rust console reference examples have been added to the SDK.

As an interactive companion for the PCAN-API (CanApi5.dll), the PCAN API Guide helps developers generate, run, and validate API calls in real time across multiple programming languages. Users can select an API function, automatically fill parameters based on connected PCAN hardware, execute calls directly in the tool, and immediately view return values and detailed output. Built-in workflow shortcuts make it easy to open related PCAN tools and monitor the effect of API calls.

Simultaneously, the Peak.PCANBasic.NET NuGet package receives a critical feature update, introducing explicit XL extensions to the Worker class, echo messages reception notifications (enabling explicit registration of OS events to trigger upon echo frame reception), and specialized broadcast messaging mechanisms. For automotive test benches targeting localized subsystems, PCAN-Developer adds comprehensive support for CAN FD light, complete with full-source implementation models for both a Commander and a Responder node.
