News 2024 08 PCAN OBDonUDS API

With the new PCAN-OBDonUDS API, we are now also publishing a programming interface for the high layer protocol OBDonUDS (SAE J1979-2). With its functions, the API provides the services of the OBDonUDS standard for the development of Windows applications. Based on the underlying APIs PCAN-Basic and PCAN-UDS, the diagnostic data is exchanged via the CAN bus.

Designed as the successor to OBD-2, OBDonUDS creates structures and functionality based on the established UDS standard (ISO 14229-1) for improved vehicle diagnostics and monitoring compared to OBD-2.

Similar to programming interfaces for other protocols such as ISO-TP, UDS, and RP1210, we provide the PCAN-OBDonUDS API for download free of charge. Software based on the API can be used with all PEAK-System CAN interfaces.
