PEAK has expanded the popular PCAN-USB FD series, one of its most successful CAN interfaces previously available with USB-A, with a new USB-C variant that simplifies connection to current computer hardware and gives users more flexibility in development, testing, and service.
The PCAN-USB FD with USB-C connects a computer to CAN CC and CAN FD networks via High-Speed USB 2.0. It supports CAN specifications 2.0 A/B as well as CAN FD, with data-field bit rates from 25 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s and classic CAN bit rates from 25 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s. Connection to the CAN bus is made via a 9-pin D-Sub connector. Galvanic isolation up to 500 V decouples the PC from the CAN bus.
The compact plastic housing is suitable for mobile use. The scope of supply includes device drivers for Windows and Linux, the PCAN-View CAN monitor, the PCAN-Basic API, APIs for automotive protocols, and the manual in PDF format.
